I never read sl fashion blogs.
I'm still looking for one or two nice suits for a reasonable price, but I guess I will stumble over them inworld in the end.
Kauna went out of business, as a farewell gift he offered almost the whole store for free. I think you can still pick up most of the collection in the former side store at Time Portal.

One of the biggest mysteries to me is the obsession with fashion in SL With all the cool things you can do in a virtual world and fashion is the biggest thing? If that is your thing, that's cool, just color me baffled I do consider myself the anti-fashionnista. My avie five foot, two inches tall. sports a A/B cup and green skin. My favorite pair of shoes is a pair of shit kickers, you would wear on the farm.

Well fashion is a big thing in SL partly because it's a big thing in RL. If the fashion and beauty industries just instantly disappeared from RL, it would plunge the entire planet into a recession. And if people stopped shopping fashion in SL...that would be SLapocalypse.

Some of us who do the fashion-thing in SL have described SL as being like Barbie Dreamhouse X-TREEM. As the tagline of late lamented SL fashion blog Linden Lifestyles used to say "Our Wardrobe is Better than Barbies." Let me see if I can find some relevant posts from Salome, who was one of the founders of Linden Lifestyles, on her late lamented personal blog. Ah, I have to use the wayback machine:

If that is your thing, that's cool, just color me baffled
And if not-fashion is your thing, I'm fine with that, it's all good.

You made a choice to make your avatar short, b-cupped, with green skin and shit-kicker boots. The "why" of that choice, is fashion. I am reminded of a scene in the film "Devil Wears Prada"

I find most fashion blogs on their own really boring, because they are in reality just showcases for some select content designers. The blogger applies, gets stuff for a discount/free, and the content designer the media coverage in return - win win.

So this means of course that you could just label blogger A as Ms. N-Core, blogger B as Ms. Burberry and whatever not. They are a nice show case for those designers then, but aside that there is not much variety in it.

Also from an artistic point of view many blogs are boring as hell as well. Also many people put themself there in a mediocre bubble, applauding for mediocre stuff like insane, because they like to think that all is so great and epic and whatnot, when in reality it is not.

So this means that I treat most fashion blogs like advertisements - when I am looking for some special stuff it might be worth a look for some inspiration and get a sense of what's in fashion at the moment, aside that it is definitely not worth my time at all because most of them are totally overrated.

I also really hate this event hype cycle - "OMFG is this and that event again, I must attend it to get the newest and best stuff ever!" Until of course the next version of the same emerges, then most of it is really outdated as hell. Not my cup of coffee, even more ridiculous when those events happen every month. You can outhype an event easily like that.
