What rez systems do you use and for what?

I wanted to buy a rez-system for some of my needs. But confused during the search in the marketplace. And I thought ... There are many more experienced users and builders in the SL. Why not ask for advice from them?

Tell me, please, what rez-systems do you use now and for what functions?

To be more specific, I myself was looking for opportunities:
1. I or my friend clicked on the table - there was a dining decor. Pressed again - the decor has disappeared.
2. I or my friend pressed the selection panel, and chose the design option for the room we need now.
3. The guest comes to a certain place, and the design of this location is loaded around. The guest leaves - the location is again hidden in the rez-cube.

I am sure that all this already exists and is used by many. But I found only number two. And I do not even know if this is the best option. It is also possible that rez-systems have new useful functions and use cases which I do not even suspect, but I want to know.

On the topic of use cases: My club uses a few different rezzers, one in fact I built myself, to provide many different scenes for our dance floor. This lets us quickly switch out one look for another the various event themes for our shows, and tends to keep the visual interest of the dance area fresh.

Yes, that's why I was interested in using rez-systems. With all the same volume and in the same area, you can create different interiors and decorations. Can I find out the names of those rez-systems that you use and that seem comfortable to you? I hope that names or links are allowed to share in the forum?

Any rez system will require that you put a script in the pieces you want to control. Make sure that all your key items are Modify before you buy a rez system.
Yes, I remember that. When I create an interior, I make sure that all objects are modifiable.

All three scenarios are easy to script. 99% of the work in building a "rez system" is putting together the tools for the end user to configure it - determining and setting all the positions and parameters. Folks who are scripters themselves - like myself and Free - when they need a rezzing solution often don't bother with much of that, slapping together a quick and dirty "get the data I need" tool which they can then delete after pasting the numbers into the rezzing script....

I even hate bothering with pasting the numbers in, so I have a bit of the script in each object write it to the object's description... :yarrr:

I tried different rezzer. Mostly free (to buy for 1000 and more, not knowing whether it will work, do not really want). Unfortunately, not a single cutter coped with the task. It seems I want too much ... But maybe someone can tell?

So conditions ...
There is a region (not mine) with a group. One of the group’s roles (non-core) makes it possible to build in the region. I need to do a multi-rez, switching several scenes for guests of the region.
Problem ... All rezzer tested by me refuse to work when I'm offline.

All rez-objects selected group of the region (Edit - General). I tried to put a tick on the item "Share". I asked the owner of the land for permission to the button - “Transfer” - this made the object inaccessible for further editing (I still did not understand what this button does, after pressing the button I could not even delete the test object and I had to ask the owner for this) . But I still could not solve the problem.

Can someone here tell me how to make the rezzer I need? Is this even possible to do?

The rezzer I tried ...

Holo-emitter system
Very easy to use. Convenient simple menu to switch. But sometimes there is a problem - some objects fly away from their place. Or do not appear. Or appear for a second and immediately disappear. It seems that it depends on how far away the stage is from the console. Although I'm not sure that because of this ...

TBF Scene Rezzer Scripts
An even simpler script. Only three files. Same simple toggle menu. Is there the same problem as in the first rezzer, I do not know. Few tried. I made sure that it does not work in my absence, and deleted it.

CasperTech Rez2
It looks a little more complicated. I had to figure out what's what. More settings and therefore the menu looks more complicated. Besides, the free option is available for only one scene. A multi-scene costs 1000. I tried the free one. And he also did not work when I was offline.

Multi-scene Rezzer
This rezzer is paid, version without copy, 350l. Version with the ability to copy costs 1500l. You can customize the scan of the presence of an avatar, as I would like. But... Again it does not work when I'm offline.

Innula has a post on the SL Forum here about this problem. It's been a probelm in SL for a while and is expected behaviour as mentioned in the Jira associated with the issue. If you don't own the land you need to make sure that the rezzer and the group involved have very specific options set.

This is a long-standing feature of LSL (can't be a bug since the relevant jira was eventually closed as "expected behavior").

There are, as I understand it, two possible work-rounds. Either the owner must deed the item to the land group or the land permissions need to be set so any member of the group may rez objects (and the rezzer set to the appropriate group, obviously).

According to the caveats to the function llRezObject in the jira, llRezObject (and the similar function, llRezAtRoot)

Silently fails if you don't have offline building rights on the land. To have the right, your objects needs to either:

  • Be on land you own yourself.
  • Be on land where anyone is allowed to build, e.g. a sandbox.
  • Be deeded to the group that owns the land.
  • Be set to the same group that owns the land and the land have the parcel flag 'allow group to build' set.
  • The group role "Always allow 'Create Objects'" will only work to override this when you are online, in the region, or have a child agent in the region. See SVC-3145 in the Issues subsection of Deep Notes for more information.
For the background to all this, see See Log in - Second Life Bug Tracker and Log in - Second Life Bug Tracker.

If there are non-transferred objects in the rezzer (furniture, for example), the "Transfer" button remains inactive. Therefore, I cannot transfer the rezzer to the group.

All objects are laid out on the ground under the group tag, so the group in them is already marked. If I understand correctly what was meant ... Other people can use the scene switcher, but only when I'm online in the same sim. If I went out - the rezzer stops working.

It seems that it really does not work in such conditions ...
