What Perk would make you want to go Premium

I'd get a premium account if I could get no fees when cashing out lindens to US dollars. What could the Lab offer to make you want to buy a Premium account?

I am already premium, but one thing I feel would be nice is say, a limited number of free texture uploads per week.

To encourage people to be creators. I mean, I guess the stipend can cover this but even like say, 10-20 free uploads would be nice.

Also premium already, so this is kind of academic, but offline inventory management would be nice.

Another thing I'd like to see, not necessarily premium only but possibly for everyone, would be a web based "thin" client. Basically a web Radegast that could be used for inventory, chat and group tasks. There was a third party one years ago that allowed chat that I found quite useful while it existed.

I'm not fond of Mainland. So why would I become a premium member?
I always lease from a long standing land baron when I need a SL shot and they've always sorted out my (very rare) SL problems.
Never needed LL customer support in all these years.

If they offered the possibility to lease a homestead or even a smaller stand alone island to premiums (without having to get a full sim as well), thst would have done the trick for me in the past.

Way back when they were introduced, those were available fairly cheaply and standalone but that got clamped down on fast because it really accelerated the emptying of the mainland as people jumped on the chance to have their own private humper bunkers.

Looking at the model of other virtual world attempts since most of them are predownload the region as you zone in, kind of like a standalone sim. Even in SL there's a ton of skydome environments stacked one above the other. This is what the market appears to want.

Thinking of it this way, that gambit to slow or reverse the mainland depopulation might have gone the other way for SL's overall usage if they'd just gone with it, maybe pushed the price up a bit in face of the demand, and started to repurpose the mainland abandoned areas into attractions/roads/minigames.

I suspect if they tried to offer those now the land barons would be up in arms. Considering that is where the Lab gets most of its income ... not likely going to happen. I would have one in an instant if they did though!

I dislike that private regions don't touch, but I kind of get why. I kind of wish there was some option to let people connect to your region though, like have very low impact Linden run oceans in the space between private regions.

Problem is whatever LL does, it will affect some people. Like the LL homes did hurt the rental business.
Introduction of mesh killed the building aspiration of most ordinaries and by that my Doorstore and other merchants businesses, that catered people who wanted to build their own house. Etc.

Ima happy with what I have already mostly, but if someone wanted to try to entice some new folks to try Premium...

Auto downgrade - NO LOCKING ACCOUNTS - like duh? srsly? You tryin' to entice customers, not scare them.

Dejargonafication - Make whatever, just put it in an clear table of you get this and that if you pay X amount of RL money.
if you wanna sell entertainment, Don't make the menu so confusing - It is not Entertaining.

Now those are things to do. So now things that might really be enticing.

1) More Premium levels with and w/o Mainland tier option.
eg, some size stipend and other perks for some dollar amount, same thing with tier included for additional fee
with.....
some bigger size stipend and the other perks for larger dollar amount, same thing with tier .. etc

Sure can look at adjusting sizes of the other perks... but.... DON'T MAKE IT TOO COMPLICATED / TOO MANY OPTIONS!

2) Higher Premium Membership Price levels for reduction in per transaction fees to buy and sell $L

3) Subsidized Mainland
Currently you have option
A) Linden Home - no upfront buy in (buying land), can jump plots 5 times in 24 hours, already a house .. in the way?, moderate, can't pick the exact spot
B) Mainland - upfront buy in, nice empty canvas, pick the maturity level, can pick the exact spot

so... add option C) Is like Linden Homes with no Home and a small fee and no resident to resident land transaction

Take some of that Mainland that is abandoned and for lower than market price to buy click a website thing and you get a plot of random land & you get to pick your maturity rating. Is not Free land, and you didn't get to pick the place. so is kinda a compromise solution, but can get people on some land.

If the whole idea is to get more peoples to direct pay LL with a CC for SL, then tweaking the included land packages with Premium Memberships can make so people who want to rent estate land & people that wanna have their own land can have options. And I threw in the Subsidized mainland b/c paying upfront a big amount to not live in a Linden home or next to a breedable farm might be dissuading peoples from giving LL more money. Sure you can Learn all the SL and spend lotta time and energy hunting a plot of land, but..... if you make it confusing and hard to sell a product.. well.

To mimimize people gaming it: If premium, so LL knows your RL CC info and someone else goes premium, so LL knows their RL CC info. Have a thing so that they can say... So and So talked me into becoming Premium, and So and So gets some L$ for it.
Srsly, If LL wants people to answer all the questions and pitch the product...

You can attach private estates. I don't know the exact procedure but both parties need to file a ticket or email Landguru Linden or something.

• I'd like to see x amount of free uploads per week or month. Excellent for snapshots for memories, for gradually filling out the outfit navigator, etc.
