I've found this little gem - Dean Martin and the incredibly charming, talented and heavily underrated
Caterina Valente are performing the "One Note Samba" in 1967 on Dean Martin's show (overall 12 appearances in that show). Valente was born in 1931 in Paris and of Italian descent. Aside the Italian she also had the French and German citizenship.
She was highly popular singer, dancer, guitar player, actor and entertainer in Germany of the 50s, where she had a lot of popular songs. She recorded her songs in 13 languages and spoke French, Italian, Swedish, German, English and Spanish fluently.
She also had her international career and a lot of appearances with Dean Martin, Dom DeLuise, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby and others. Looking at these appearance is a big, big rabbit hole let me tell you. She died at age 93 in 2024 in her home in Lugano, Switzerland.
