What is up with these Rings of Bots?

I've encountered this several times on several SIMs and seemingly owned by different people.

Rings of Bots. Like, literal ring shaped formations of say, a dozen bots. It's weird. Usually they are sitting on sky playforms around an animation stopper. I can only assume someone is trying to perform some sort of cray pagan ritual or something in SL.

Often they don't have any bodies or clothes so they don't even properly render. One set I found today was all named after the Hobbit movies, Example "IanAsGandalf" and "MartinAsBilbo", for each of the Dwarves too.

I encountered a second set in the middle of an ocean with similar names. Funny enough, when I teleported to this set, they all at once teleported away. Which happened with another set of bots in an ocean.

Anyway, anyone have any ideas on what these might be?

It varies, I took some.screen shots but I am not at home. I would say one set was roughly 15-20 SL meters diameter in a circle and the other was considerably larger, visible as a circle on the map, in the middle of the ocean.

The ones on sky platforms were in smaller circles, but this seems like maybe it's a standby position. One SIM had 3 sets of bots on platforms, stacked at different heights. I could get the region name later probably but the 3 stack was a little north east of Iaconelli Tathalina, I teleported there from my parcel just curious why the region had 36 avatars in a stack.

A month or so ago I found a ring just south west of a park area in Bay City (I think).

My guess is, their layout is caused by the bot software. It may have a "radius" feature, deciding how close to rez multiple bots based on your set coordinates.

I saw a variant of that one too. At least they seem to have finally killed "Any girls submissive when younger I have questions" guy.

Also, I don't really have a problem with bots, hell I have two I play with some on different bot systems myself. It just starts to get really fishy when someone has a dozen of them.

What seems more insane is that there seems to actually be someone on the other side. I and others have mentioned actually messaging him (generally to tell him to fuck off) and he responds.

What kind of mental hang up do you have to have to daily make new accounts all some variation of "Mister Star" and spam variations of the same message every single day in dozens, probably more, groups.

Maybe the person who spent years rezzing piles gigantic spinning motorbikes in sandboxes eventually got bored and tried something new.

The concensus seems to be Tiny Empires. It has come up in some in world chat groups.

Personally, I want to know what kind of software set up they are using. I don't need an army of.bots, but I really want to know what they are using to runs dozens of bots and having them to synchronized formation teleports.
