Green Jello is dropping a new albym in June, but they just released a single from it, called Punk Rock Pope.


The new album is, "sprinkled with guest spots from "Weird Al" Yankovic and members of Suicidal Tendencies, Fishbone, the Dwarves, Piledriver, Hacksaw Jim Duggin, Kittie, stars from Trailer Park Boys and Wink Martindale."

I saw them a couple of years ago, and they put in an amazing live show. Bill Manspeaker is old, but he still has the presence of a rock star. He strips down to his boxers and stands on a small guitar amp, to direct mosh pits like an insane tyrant, and everybody in the crowd wore crazy foam heads, which were supplied by Green Jello.

The reason we've never heard of him?

Napoleon cancelled him.

After Joseph died in 1799, Napoleon seized power in France and began to re-establish slavery in the French Colonies. Guadeloupe, where Joseph was born, resisted and around 6,000 Guadeloupians were killed. Napoleon banned Joseph’s music and removed it from all repertoires, essentially wiping Joseph from the pages of French history.
