I've been thinking about why the NSA in particular might take an interest in Tucker Carlson's show and there's a glaringly obvious solution.

During Trump's presidency, were there not two men in particular who had Trump's ear? First Sean Hannity and then Tucker Carlson?

If the intelligence services of several countries haven't been keeping an eye on Fox's main infotainers and their contacts, then something's badly wrong.

Carlson now has a pretty direct route to Trump's more extreme followers and has several times demonstrated his willingness to deploy them as a weapon against those who displease him.

He's an increasingly sinister player in his own right among all these other gangster-politicians who now comprise the US Republicans.

I can't help but think Carlson was joking when he said that... He's have nothing to gain by saying he voted for West when his entire audience would expect him to vote for Trump...

Also, Carlson lives in San Francisco... I'm sure many California Republicans cast joke votes because what good would their vote do in CA?! I'm in a similar situation. I live in a deep blue city within a deep red state. My local elections will always go blue if I vote or not, and my state wide elections will always go red if I like it or not...

Carlson sees himself an iconoclast of sorts, that he is nobody's bitch and is completely unaffected by anyone's opinions of himself, or his actions. I also think he considers himself to have a superior sense of humor (watch how he reacts to John Stewart, who right before his eyes totally rips his CNN show Crossfire to shreds), that he is the ultimate troll.
