Entire Claude Code CLI source code leaks thanks to exposed map file

The entire source code for Anthropic’s Claude Code command line interface application (not the models themselves) has been leaked and disseminated, apparently due to a serious internal error. The leak gives competitors and armchair enthusiasts a detailed blueprint for how Claude Code works—a significant setback for a company that has seen explosive user growth and industry impact over the past several months.

Early this morning, Anthropic published version 2.1.88 of Claude Code npm package—but it was quickly discovered that package included a source map file, which could be used to access the entirety of Claude Code’s source—almost 2,000 TypeScript files and more than 512,000 lines of code.

OpenAI has struck a deal to acquire TBPN, a technology-focused talk show popular in Silicon Valley, making an unexpected move into broadcasting after pledging to abandon “side quests” and focus on its core business.

A group of rank-and-file OpenAI employees have donated more than $215,000 to a super PAC pushing for stricter regulations on frontier AI labs. Guardrails Alliance, which launched last month with $5 million in total initial funding, bills itself as a populist effort supported by tech workers, labor unions, and other groups. It’s aiming to be a counterweight to Leading the Future, a pro-AI industry super PAC bankrolled with more than $100 million from technology leaders, including OpenAI president and cofounder, Greg Brockman.

I'm honestly pretty sure they will find a way to just steal the money without us really agreeing to it in any meaningful sense. There are a few ways they could do this:

1) Try to get AI usage declared a public utility that we are just taxed for. ....it's absurd but they might have the lobbying power to try this.

2) Push a lot mor bullshit subscription fees for all other software, PC, and phone usage that they get a cut of.

3) A variety of complex, investment scams to pull it out of everyone's retirement accounts. ....this one has already been in progress.

4) Create a plan where the government gives every child born in the US a $1000 stock thing which is just a waybto funnel tax dollar in and prop up the stock market bloat because 401ks instead of pensions are starting to lose steam.
