I guess everyone got it, the main reason I opened the thread is hoping someone would come up with a good solution.
I guess the bot algorithm just scanned the recent posters, they even personalized the message by including the userame in the text. While I'm stil annoyed I highly appreciate the effort they took.Oh, I guess it missed me.

I think this may be the only option... requiring 5 posts sounds reasonable and would make this much harder to do.
Same, but I often spellcheck, look up links, crossrefference between IM and public post and then finally send 3 at once.... or at least try to as some forums tell me I have to wait 30s between postings

When I went into messages someone had already deleted it for me. I did get the email though.

I deliberately suggested an inhumanly high number as it would still hamper bots but hardly ever affect real users. 10 is something no sane human would usually achieve unless very specific situations like several users asking for spicey details on something you don't want to post publicly and you just copy paste them a "here you go {%LINK}" message. So I think it is possible but clearly hard to pull off.
I know. I was one of the two people I know of that warned Cris about her. That was almost a year ago.
