Site Reorganization

Based on some extremely helpful feedback (thank you Sid ) , I am restructuring some of the forums. Second Life has been promoted to its own forum category, and several other forums have been moved there (and promoted to top level forums). The main Second Life forum has been renamed SL General Discussion. I am also moving around and deprecating a few forums (Sinespace, we barely knew you), and resorting the categories.

Please excuse the mess while I reorganize. Any feedback is welcome.

Good Job Imperious Leader! We are behind you all the way. Sid's suggestion that we be welcoming to newbies is good as well. We shall cast aside our troll defenses and allow anyone half-a-dozen posts before tossing them into the pit. SPAM is, of course, trash worthy at all times.

The harping forum will fit in either the music or hobby grouping. Come to think of it, we have enough harping around here already; so maybe just a general folk music forum in either the music or hobby grouping. Am I being helpful? Will Free grant me a Helping Hand Award? Well this post just isn't going at all like I planned.

In the end topics got split between them, and the VR worlds one has not had any posting since 2022. I think I may just merge them into one. I originally thought VRCha and Horizon might catch on more than they did.

I also removed reference to the listings section. It never did get much usage and did not have any new listings since last year. I didn't delete it, but for now, I removed it from the sidebar on the forums home and also the navigation.

I edited CSS code at 5 am on an iPad because I became obsessed with finally fixing the giant email notification font. IT IS NOT FUN EDITING CSS ON AN IPAD. I also had a back and forth conversation with the user Google Test (me) that said TEST over and over to trigger an email notification and then me checking my email after I made a change and it having no effect and then yelling FUCK! and scaring my cat.

However, I prevailed finally so now the font is only 172 points, not 175 (that was unreasonable!)

You don't remember the SLU chatbox? It was a big textbox where any SLU member could type whatever they liked and it would stay there for a short while for everyone to see. It never got much use. Once in a while I'd type random thoughts into it usually in the middle of the night when I was bored, most of which were probably never read because the chatbox was never very popular.

I vaguely remember it. The profile posts here do the same thing essentially - the most recent ones appear on the front page of the forums in the sidebar

The feel of the chatbox was different. It was so impermanent. I could make inane comments and know they would not be archived. "There is an ant approaching me on the floor. He might be coming for my cookie." or dumb shit like that which nobody wants to read as a regular post.

Like I said above though almost no one used it, not an idea worth implementing anymore.

Ok I restructured things some more, and also added an emoji and description to each forum to give it a fresh coat of paint and more guidance on what goes where. A few forums bit the dust (I moved MMOs into Gaming, and VR Worlds into Virtual World General), and some got renamed. I will continue to tweak things.
