sluniverse Recreating SLU Content

While the SLU forums will eventually be brought back up once I move off of the current site, if you want to recreate some threads from the SLU forums (tutorials, recent discussions), please feel free to do so. I'm also still setting up the forum structure, so if I overlooked something let me know.

(Yes, I know there are no commercial forums yet (real estate, new products, etc..). I haven't decided if those are returning or not, given the imbalance between their usage and the support provided in return.

Honestly, I'd say "fuck 'em". Particularly when you factor in the drama and entitlement that's come from them in the past....

[ETA]I think it would be good to bring "events" back, because that actually benefits us (showing us where we can go), but I definitely won't miss the drama around the land forums....

Yes, the SLU Classifieds section, which had Real Estate, Commercial Announcements, Help Wanted/Services Available and New Product Listings.

By Commercial I mean they were there to help users promote their businesses . However, there were lots of people who just posted in them and did not take part in SLU at all, or provide any support to the site in return.

I'd like to see an In Memorium section for SLU members that passed and won't be joining us here.
I think we had a thread for those who had passed, we could start with that, but I'm sure it didn't include everyone.

Sorry to be a downer in a shiny new forum, but I'd like that to be the one piece of content we port with us.

The Script Library / Scripting SL subforum was quite handy for some folks. I think the same goes for the SL "Content Creation" one.

Yeah I'm trying to figure out how to set up the content creation section again since this is no longer an SL site solely, where most everything was structured around SL before.

Make the content creation part individual subforums of the main sections of each VW? So, a Scripting subforum and a Content Creation subforum in SL's section, one in Sansar's, etc. That might work.
Ie. don't make Content Creation its own literal top level section.

Difficult for placing the existing posts (if ported over fully) but not so difficult moving forward: Each place gets their own Content Creation subsection with tips and such being posted for that particular "world" while more general bits of information go to a more general section.

Does this forum software support tags/flairs in thread titles? I thought I saw special "Sluniverse" flairs in some.

If it does, and the tags are user-selectable, then rather than creating a half dozen different Content Creation subforums in different VW forums maybe we could still have just a single Content Creation forum, and thread posters can if necessary tag their thread with the name of a specific VW? Because to build on what you said, it's very common for a software tip, trick, or tutorial to be useful for more than one particular VW.

Yes, it does support prefixes - that's how I'm going to approach it.

SL isn't the only platform with user content creation so maybe just one category for all content creation with some designated sections? Granted, right now I don't really have any custom creations for the Sims other than the builds but I'd like to be able to showcase every now and then. I'm using Imgur so I won't need attachments and linking won't be an issue.
