That was really great! The one plot hole that actually does get explained in the original movie is that they intentionally let them escape the death star so they could track them back to the rebel base. ...but I don't think that explains how inconsistent their aim is in most of the star wars movies. Llike how a "legion" of the Empire's best troops got bested by stone age Ewoks in Return of the Jedi, lol.
