Linden Lab has begun offering an option to their Premium Plus membership where you get all the perks, minus the stipend (and signup bonus). This drops the cost of a PP membership from $20.75/mo to $11.99/mo (billed annually). Which looks like it could be a significant savings - under certain conditions.

Why Premium Plus Without Stipend Might Be Your Perfect Match

I'm considering upgrading from Premium to Premium Plus thanks to this option. Right now, Premium is $8.25/mo with annual billing. I barely notice receiving the weekly stipend as it is, so losing it doesn't bother me. What's interesting me in upgrading is, I've been getting into more mesh and modeling, as well as updating my old texture work to 2k, and I find myself starting to balk at the upload costs. Wiping those prices off the board could benefit me a lot. I'm working out the numbers...

Yeah, what is the stipend for Premium Plus. If its 300L$/ week, then you can just sell the stipend and get $10 back and still have enough for like, 20 10L$ trexure uploads.

Premium plus stipend is higher, being L$600, you'd get that instead. That is known

The stipendless version I don't know but some girly girl in the Bellisseria groups will probably find out soon. My guess is you'd lose it until any time you'd shift back into an account tier with stipend.

I need to find out if the price of Premium Plus is different for me since I'm lifetime premium. I need more group slots. I wish LL would have followed through on their plan to offer features a la carte, I'd just pay for more group slots.

After some checking, it seems I don't have an "upgrade to Premium Plus" option on my account page. I have a little warning blurb that says "Your present registration status of SecondLifetime Premium enjoys all the benefits of premium membership. If you are unable to access a service or benefit you feel you should, please contact support. "

Ok, my calculation was off because at 300L$, youbonly get around $5 back, but if the stipend is 600L$, its makes up the difference in my previous comment.

Without the leftover on uploads, but them, you get those anyway as Premium Plus.

It seems like the per month price basically amounts to if you want to hassle with selling your stipend or not.

It's a lot more than 75! I'm old enough to remember the fuss when they reduced it to L$400 and then L$300 later that year. Ordinal Malaprop made "zomG Stipends!" t-shirt.

I mean there's a lot of people with grandfathered L$500 stipends. And that there was a LOT more fuss about the stipend reductions for newer premiums back in 06' than about the new Stipendless Premium options.

I pulled the 75 out of my ass. I mean to say as a proportion of users there aren't really that many of us. Well, not enough to matter whether we understand what Plus would do to our accounts.

I have a lifetime account from 2003. I have gotten 500L weekly since 2003. My lifetime account was $225.
