So you're saying there's a non-zero chance A.I. could reinstate classic Hollywood entertainment?
My first thought was, "Well, there's also a non-zero chance I could flap my arms and fly to La Guardia, but don't hold your breath."
On further thought, though, your comment made me realize there's a sort of democratization of creativity occurring during this, probably brief, window, while A.I. is still affordable to lots of people. You or I could, at least in theory, produce some counterfeit "classic Hollywood entertainment" with the right prompt and just a few minutes of computer and download time. No more technology than that needed, no grubbing for money from investors, and no meetings with *shudder* mid-level studio executives. No need to inhabit Los Angeles, that multi-dimensional hellscape where, somehow, every single thing you need is at least 45 minutes away. No BJ's for whoever the new Harvey Weinstein is, either. Or, one could produce a counterfeit Taylor Swift record. For that matter, A.I. could probably write the plot and script for the movie or the lyrics for the "Tailor Sweft" recording.
So, where comments sections, social media, and product reviews made "everyone" a commentator (and hasn't that gone well?) I guess the current Age of A.I. will make everyone a creator, with the same effects on the arts as comments sections have had on public discourse.
The future's so bright I gotta wear shades.
