On a gaming forum I started a thread with the company's name (a lot of people do that and I have done it in the past). This time, unlike every other time I have done it, I got a message from a mod not to do a callout. The mod then edited my post to delete the offending word (their company name) not saying anything about the fact that the next word was 'please'.

Is that normal anywhere else? I dislike disagreeing with mods but I am starting to wonder if I should just not post there if there rules will be so random.

From my underinformed view from the other side of the pond, the UK vastly overestimates its importance to the EU. They might just be getting tired of their nonsense. Their economic exchange is far from nothing but it isn't like it's 50%. Maybe in my dreams, the EU would just say fuck this and let them squander partly as a notice to other countries that this was a really bad idea of theirs.

I do not know exactly who is was who said this about modern Europe, but it went something like this:

The tragedy of modern Europe is that

- the UK is stuck in the past, still considering itself to be an empire which it was/is destined to be,
- France still mourns the loss of its importance in the world back thinking about the good old times when it was really "la grande nation", so it has not realized yet fully where its place in modern times should be, while
- the Germans exactly do know who they were in the past (Third Reich) and who they are know and that makes them extremely unhappy.

You made sure you obeyed one very important rule there: no 'h'.
Yes, I even opened up the members tab to make sure I had the spelling perfect.
