For years I thought I bailed during my trial, but then I found my cancellation email and it turns out I actually stuck around for a few months. 2005 was a shitty year for me though, so I only have vague memories of my trial.

Sorry to hear that 2005 was a shitty year for you... same here - I hated 2005 too, but I do have fond memories playing with my RL best friend in 2004 in SL - I were only around 13/14 back then, so had to act really mature in case I got caught by the Lindens... I did get my account banned a few years later for being underage, then moved to the teen grid where I spend around 1 year and a half, then transferred back to the MG.

I miss old SL forums . The semi-independent ones that run on a different page that of which url I forgot. Back then there was also a Polish forum for SL that was very active due to a lot of folks being involved in political activism and needing a space government would not peek into. Seems this one still exists and even looks the same but last post os 2019.

The last SL argument I got involved in on both forums was when Windows 10 got released and broke everything . Half of folks were pro and half were against (I am still against. I will cling to Windows 7 till I die ... okay it kind of died on me and on Linux at the moment but the POINT!).

Bonus: I think a lot of SLers joined main grid underage and not even due to wanting to snoop about. I recall teen grid wanted credit card details which in 2006 was a weird American thing rest of world rarely seen thus we had no choice really. Then LL did age verification and 17 year old me chosen insurance number and .... it somehow passed. It is amusing because Polish insurance numbers have the date of birth inside them :/ .
