People already talk about being able to inject data into blockchain transactions. What if someone started injecting it into every transaction and then sent the police after every blockchain bro? There's already kiddy porn on the blockchain.
I dunno if that would really work.People already talk about being able to inject data into blockchain transactions. What if someone started injecting it into every transaction and then sent the police after every blockchain bro?
I suspect it would be like cutting his own throat to suggest that the blockchain might be *wrong*.I would love to see how enforceable the Ts&Cs are in court. As a matter of law, a thief can not pass a clear title. Green appears to have done due diligence in reporting the theft. The next buyer may not have. As a matter of law, Green still owns the NFTs and all rights he held before the theft. Under the terms of the NFT the owner is whoever the Blockchain points to, even if they are a thief. That sounds ripe for litigation.
Now the person or entity HOSTING the material that is linked to by the NFT, they'd better watch out.I don't know if the police would arrest/convict someone over just having the links if they haven't downloaded the actual images - I suspect not? Every arrest I've seen in the news involved people who had images and videos on their computer or phone or whatever. But maybe, who knows.
What do you mean no reason to continue. There is the artistic merit of creating a show and putting your ideas out there for others to see and enjoy! If the NFT is stolen though, he can't sell it, so there's literally no reason to continue.
That was quite a roller coaster of a read. I started off thinking these people are naive simpletons, and one of the selling points of this nonsense is that you get away from that horrible government interference (also called "regulation"). Asking the government to step in and enforce non-existent rules is kind of pointless. Then as I read further I began to feel a little bad for the guy. He was clearly manipulated by some rather callous individuals who took advantage of him. By the end, though, he started going on about how the real problem was that he was not careful, and he does not want to miss the "opportunities" of crypto. At that point, I was convinced he is just a greedy moron, and it is just a matter of time before the rest of his money will be liberated from his clutches. Given his history and background I cannot help but imagine he is a free market conservative who in a short time will be crying at his kitchen table wondering why the government would just let him starve.
Moeel seems like quite a work of...something.The Toronto Comic Arts Festival angered artists and fans alike when they invited Saba Moeel, the artist behind the Pink Cat NFT collection, to attend as a featured guest. This was in part because of opinions around NFTs more generally, but much of the ire was directed at Moeel specifically when she was found to have traced much of her work from sources including Tank Girl, Tom and Jerry, and various artists on Instagram without providing any credit. Others were concerned with various transphobic or racist statements Moeel has made in the past, as well as the creation of artwork by a non-Black artist that appeared to be caricaturing Black people.
