I don't have any use for smart watches, but several people I know will like hearing the news about Pebble.
Not great but should be tempered by virtually all home computers being behind a nat.Query: Should the government (hah!) allow a company like Microsoft to abandon millions of users in this way? Is this merely the downside of capitalism, and we just have to live with it?
(Yeah yeah, just install Linux!)

Microsoft Is Abandoning Windows 10. Hackers Are Celebrating. - The American Prospect
The company will stop supporting the OS on October 14. Advocacy groups warn this will leave up to 400 million computers vulnerable to hacks or in the dump.prospect.org
Thats what I did. Inwent from 2 Windows 10 and one Windows 11 to 1 Win 11, 1 Mint, and 1 Ubuntu.(Yeah yeah, just install Linux!)
It's not laziness, it's pettiness.The cookies thing...
Inheard sometbing that made it more irritating. Apparrntly, if the cookoes are all related to the app itself, needed to function, like log in cookies. It doesn't need to throw the annoyimg concent pop up.
Basically, the law apparently.acknowledges beneign/harmess cookies.
But everyone is lazy so they put the pop up anyway out of fear of a lawsuit.
Malicious compliance. It's not laziness, it's pettiness.
I'd call it a bug, but...that's weird.Firefox used to have a little Weather report on each new tab. Just now I noticed it's switched to Portland, OR and won't accept my location outside the USA.
• Before the latest round of issues, Amazon said it “fully mitigated” an earlier outage. Several popular websites and apps— including Snapchat, Facebook and Fortnite — were impacted. Banks and cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and AI firm Perplexity also reported issues, as did US airlines Delta and United.
• One expert said the financial impact of today’s disruption could total hundreds of billions of dollars.
If you believe downdetector, the number of people with issues is still sky high. It’s says it’s back on as of 5 minutes ago, but some are still experiencing issues.
Hundreds of billions of $? Aww..
I kept getting their 404 "Meet the dogs of Amazon" page when trying to access any of my lists early this afternoon.Amazon apparently uses AWS because their website today is pure ass.
