Well, I finally managed to get myself permabanned from Threads. I had always figured my anti-MAGA snarkiness would get the best of me, but, no, it wasn't that at all. I had a fairly normal afternoon of posting replies, then took a break for a couple of hours for dinner and such. When I picked up my phone to see what was new in Threads, I found I had been logged out. Weird, I thought. So I logged back in, saw my profile page for about half a second, then saw a screen explaining my account had been permanently suspended. The reason? Apparently I had violated their terms of service regarding fraud.

Fraud? What the fuck??? They cited things like romance scams and the like as examples of what violated their rules, but did not explain what, specifically, I had done. Worse, the message went on to state that I had no right to an appeal, that all my content would be deleted, and their decision was final.

Fraud? I mean, I always expected I'd eventually be shown the door for being a snarky, liberal bitch. But fraud? And, of course, they didn't even show me which post supposedly violated their rules! So I have no fucking idea what they're even talking about!

So, fuck 'em. The place was turning into a MAGA toilet anyways, like Twitter did. So I have no interest in fighting it if that's even possible. I have Bluesky, but I think I'm going to take a little break from social media for a bit to rub my wounds.
I'd wager that some magamoron got riled up by one of your posts and brigaded you, with their pals claiming you DM'd them directly with solicitations.

I doubt a human at Threads/FecesBarf ever saw it... it probably went straight into some algorithm "if #complaints > X : auto-banhammer"

Yu-Gi-Oh card tournament suspended over hygiene complaints

BEAVERTON (Oregon), July 1 — An independently owned card shop in Beaverton, Oregon, has suspended its Yu‑Gi‑Oh tournaments for a week after receiving multiple complaints and negative reviews about players’ poor hygiene.

According to IGN, Chronos Games & Gifts announced the temporary halt in a statement posted on its public Discord channel, saying it had faced recurring issues with “mistreating the restrooms” and customers turning up in unclean condition. The shop urged players to follow Konami’s official tournament guidelines, which include hygiene requirements and allow attendees to report individuals who fail to comply.
Yikes, I guess it had to be pretty freaking bad if they straight up stopped the event over it.
