Microsoft is now offering this kind of partnership with EA Games where there's a lot of EA games you can play completely free if you have an XBox PC Game Pass sub.

They've implemented it in an awful way, though. (Some of) the EA games are showcased in the Xbox app; but what you actually end up having to do is install the EA desktop app, create an EA account, and link it to your Xbox account so that the EA app can see your Game Pass sub and set those games for free, which you then install (with the EA app, although the Xbox app shows you the installation progress....lol). Yeah, it's....weird. But if you're willing to do all that, you can play some decent games for free.

I'm playing Jedi: Fallen Order for the first time with this. I actually really like the game, it's not what I expected from EA at all. Even all the cosmetic stuff, which is explicitly marked in the game as "premium content", is available without any microtransaction hell involved. But I'm enjoying the game - I haven't played a Star Wars game I truly enjoyed since the old KOTOR games.

In December 2019, Utah startup Latitude launched a pioneering online game called AI Dungeon that demonstrated a new form of human-machine collaboration. The company used text-generation technology from artificial intelligence company OpenAI to create a choose-your-own adventure game inspired by Dungeons & Dragons. When a player typed out the action or dialog they wanted their character to perform, algorithms would craft the next phase of their personalized, unpredictable adventure.

Last summer, OpenAI gave Latitude early access to a more powerful, commercial version of its technology. In marketing materials, OpenAI touted AI Dungeon as an example of the commercial and creative potential of writing algorithms.

Then, last month, OpenAI says, it discovered AI Dungeon also showed a dark side to human-AI collaboration. A new monitoring system revealed that some players were typing words that caused the game to generate stories depicting sexual encounters involving children. OpenAI asked Latitude to take immediate action. "Content moderation decisions are difficult in some cases, but not this one,” OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in a statement. “This is not the future for AI that any of us want."

I was given a gift of a red panda pet in Black Desert Online, but for some dumb reason I thought it was a red fox, so I have a red panda pet named Foxy Knoxy.

I know this is super old but for some reason I get the first page instead of new posts sometimes. But I can relate here.

When I started actually playing Black Desert recently, I found that I had tokens for a horse and a donkey. I decided to name the Donkey, "Eddie", after "Eddie Murphy", who played Donkey in Shrek.

Except I mistakenly used the Horse token. So now I have a Horse named "Eddie".

I ended up calling the donkey "JackSass".

I feel dumb because a while agho I played like one round of Fortnite, and ran around a big map doing things, but now, I can't for the life of me figure out how to do anything but this one story mission thing where you dont even really fight anything or anyone. You just follow this soldier dude and this robot dude while trying to stop a big energy thing.

You have to use the thingy you got on the little anomalies, use it like a gun, and on the bigger one you have to fly up to. Jonesy the soldier dude will tell you what to do. It annoyed us Save the World players because we couldn't bypass it, we had to do it too.

Alright, I figured it out. There was a box to select game type on the side.

I ended up winning after like 3 or 4 rounds, so I guess I have beaten Fortnite now. It seems like the best strategy was to drive around running people over in a car, then hide for a bit in a closet until barely anyone else was left.

I also got a legendary weapon right off, which may have helped. I think there was some sort of NPC near it that tried to kill me but I managed to run away.
