The real solution is to make the taxes on moving money in and out of a country considerably larger so it's no longer an incentive. It kind of makes sense really, at least the going out part. Why would a country want it's money going elsewhere.

Of course then it will just become a stupid game of buying "Art" or NFTs or some other money laundering scam that can me moved tax free.

I'm not quite sure I follow. Someone invests in something of value (shares in Amazon, Trump Tower when he has to sell it to fend off his creditors, whatever) and that something goes up in value, then down again, and then up again. At what point do they pay tax?

When they sell the shares or whatever and find they've made a profit.

My thoughts on this is you basically pay for whatever the peak was for the year. This of course ads some risk since something could completely tank, but it seems like the best way to sort of discourage manipulation of pricing to make it artificially low when any sort of assessment comes along.

It's very difficult to see what crime could possibly have been disclosed though. She was 17 at the time (16 is the age of consent), and there's no suggestion she didn't consent, so I'm not sure what anyone thinks he could be prosecuted for in the UK.

My understanding of the specific allegations here is that he was accused of human trafficking, not pedophilia. Can a trafficked woman consent? Besides that, if he was dealing with Epstein, we can speculate that he was probably receiving more than one trafficked woman. I guess we will never know, though. Scotland Yard doesn't want their nosey detectives to start committing suicide, do they?

It would be interesting to see what happens if Andrew ever decides to visit New York. I'm sure the judges here would be fascinated with his "I don't sweat" defense.

Prince Andrew is accused of human trafficking? News to me, but what do you say, specifically, he's said to have done and what laws then in force in the UK is he said to have broken in the process?

I can't think of any current laws he might broken they been in force back then, and they're considerably tighter now than then they were twenty years ago.
