My name is Khamon Fate and I am not an anime fan. I enjoy a few mainstream, and a couple of obscure, series; and I know a few cosplayers, and a few OTAKU SRSLY, but often have to look up their references. The point is conceded. Now let's consider a dozen other artistic lifestyle choices and talk about your sad normie status. or not

I really find myself enjoying this show:

OTOH - I was excited for Clarice to come out because I loved the Hannibal series but I was kind of disappointed. I really hate the character who is her boss (Paul I think?) he is such a jerk that it kind of ruined the whole first episode. Can't put my finger on why it was such a let down but watching Queen Latifah in the Equalizer made up for my disappointment.

Clarice kinda can't help but be a mess the way the rights to the characters are divided up. Hannibal had many of the most interesting parts of the books to work with, while Clarice can't mention the story that made her a compelling character.

Is anybody else still watching American Gods?

The show is beautifully produced, even if the plot is a little slow and clumsy. The really interesting stuff is the behind the scenes stuff, though. They went through something like 4 show runners in 3 seasons, after rebuilding sets and reshooting a lot of stuff during the first season over some bad art direction. Actors like Gillian Anderson keep leaving. The guy playing Anansi was fired because his black power focused character "sends the wrong message to BLM." Gaiman is going through a messy divorce, but he's reportedly very involved in running the show. I think I remember reading a few cast members left over the divorce (his ex-wife is Amanda Palmer). I'm shocked that Crispin Glover hasn't left, because he's known as the one of the hardest people to work with in Hollywood.

I'm just now catching up with the current season, and last week, Marilyn Manson appeared in a major supporting role, just in time for him getting cancelled for horrific spousal abuse. At this point, I'm kinda half watching it just to see how they write around all the back stage issues with the show. The show isn't bad, but you know, it's nothing special. The meta plot is what makes it interesting to me.

If you like the book, I'm not sure if you would like the show or not. The show diverges from the book enough that the show is it's own thing.

(Stuff about production drama)
So in other words the production is as messed up as the gods they are portraying?

I like the show, and it is on my "to watch" list, but that list is very long. Generally I watch whole seasons when they are finished.

One might suspect the gods have something against this production...

The sequel will probably be better.

Oh wow, I forgot there was a Hannible series. It seems really weird that these two series exist but I assume aren't really related.

SYFY has taken to putting up episodes of Resident Alien on their Youtube channel. I'm only 2 episodes in but I like it, almost as much as I love doom patrol.
Plus Alan Tudyk!
Alan Tudyk is outstanding in this show, and I've not had so many laugh out loud moments in a long time.

Star Wars - 16mm so it is not as crisp, but see Han shoot first, the death star blow up without the ring, see roughly the 30 rebel fighters mentioned!

I'm torn on this one.

So Netflix, stop lying. Tim Burton directed episode 23 "Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp" of Shelly duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre back in 1986.

An ad for this Tom & Jerry trailer has been stalking me around the internet for the last month or two, and I finally got bored enough to click the damn thing. I expected it to be terrible, but... I actually kinda like it. I'm looking forward to it coming out now. If not for the pandemic, I'd see it in a theater.

It releases on Friday.
