This article, and articles like it, piss me off. All the film journalists keep saying that the Mortal Kombat theme song is used in the new Mortal Kombat film, and it's not. The original song was called Techno Syndrome, and they use a lame ass remix of it during the credits. That's it. I do not count credit music as using the song in a film, even if they used Techno Syndrome, which they didn't. It was a lame remix. Technically, they play, like, half a bar of Techno Syndrome when Scorpion says "get over here!", which is the only english that character speaks, apparently. He must have learned that phrase in hell. Anyway, the few notes of Techno Syndrome just come off as a bullshit tease that just pisses off the audience, because the song is never played in the film. I mean, it's a terrible film, anyway. The fight scenes are so quick cut that they put me to sleep. The fact that journalists feel comfortable enough to lie about the music, in almost every film review outlet that reviews the film... that makes me not trust them. From here on in, before I trust a film review enough to get off my ass and buy a ticket in a movie theater, I'm going to do a quick google search to see what they said about Mortal Kombat, and if they said Techno Syndrome is in it, I'm disregarding everything they say, because they are dirty, dirty liars, and they should feel bad about themselves.
Also, I finally saw Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo. It was surprisingly good! No, seriously... the plot is dumb, but who cares? The plot is just a way to break up the dance numbers. The movie is just a party! It's the kind of thing you can totally play in the background at a house party. Also, Ice T looks like he's 12 years old in it or something. I found it on an app called Tubi. It autoplayed after I watched Vanilla Ice's magnum opus... Cool As Ice (which was terrible, even if the first 30 minutes or so was good because it was so weird). I think the old SLU forums had a big thread named Electric Boogaloo, so I always thought it was a joke about a bad movie, so I was surprised it was actually good. Some ultra-right wing groups also co-opted the word Boogaloo, but that's kinda funny. I mean, did anybody tell them that Breakin 2 is full of minorities? Also, if Boogaloo boys actually dressed like people from Breakin 2, and had dance offs, instead of shooting people, I think they would have been much more successful politically.
