Thanks to all of your help when I asked about getting some mainland for my prem account ! I got a piece of abandoned land, 1024 which is perfect and grouped it to our store.

I'm now wondering about trying to add some more. My question is - can I add prims from another sim to my parcel next door? There is a chunk of abandoned land right over the boundary and I was going to ask if I could have a slice to buy - BUT - I want the prims not really the land - if that makes sense? Or is there another way to do this?
TIA xx

No, you cannot combine prim quotas between sims.

You could do a bit of hoodwinking using linksets, making sure the root prim sits primarily in the plot you need to bleed the prim usage from, but it's not something I'd recommend normally (for example, when a sim is rebooted you'd lose those linksets for the time it's offline).

Only plots within the same region will add to your prim count. Within the same region, they do not have to be connected. I had some land for a bit and wanted a bit more so I bought a piece in the same region that was just like, useless water space, for added prims in my main plot.

But they need fo be in the same region.

As group-owned land, you can hold approximately 102sm extra land without raising tier. (It's actually a bit more because the more land you add, the greater the number of your 10% extra.) You can pick those up as in small batches, anywhere on your sim, and they'll add to your prim allotment. I was usually able to pick up orphaned 32sm or even 16sm parcels next to roadways or any other jagged border.

If you want to pick up a lot more land, however, it may be more economical to buy another premium membership for an alt, and have them contribute their 1024sm to your group. The combined 2048 plus 10% group bonus gets you a lot of land!

Also if you can resist spending the stipend, after the initial buy in for that 2nd account, you can cash out the stipend each year. I have not done the math in a while but I think it comes out to only paying like $20 or something annually for the second.

A little update - I bumped into Guy Linden who was looking into the mainland question for me - such a nice guy to chat too! Gave me some advice as to my options which were very helpful :)
If he did not mention it.

If there is abandoned land within your region, but none for sale, you can submit a ticket to have it partitioned off. They will usually do sspecific sizes and shapes too.

I didnthis just recently because I picked up a mainland parcel. I put some prims out (anchored to my parcel) and asked for a specific amount in that approximatr shape.

They will set it to you for 1L$/m

Yes the land I bought was abandoned so I'm familiar with that process. Guy said I could move to the next sim which they have a ton of abandoned land in (but Im not keen to move) , he had also scanned about to try and find me some more in the sim I was in, which was dead nice of him :) I'll just wait until something comes up I think - thanks for your reply !
