Turns out the Hungarian government has been bankrolling the Conservative Political Action Conference for years.

Péter Magyar, who unseated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán Sunday in a landslide, told reporters Monday that the outbound leader had diverted Hungarian taxpayer funds toward financing the American Republican conference.

Magyar noted that his government will be investigating Orbán’s expenditures, and will no longer finance CPAC or other right-wing institutions abroad.

I just learned that Orbán had been putting up images of Ukraine's President Zelensky before the election as a sort of "enemy of the people" psyops effort. I'm not even sure how he thought that would work for him even with his iron grip over the media there. I guess being Putin's good buddy makes your brain pudding.

There are long-standing historical tensions between Hungary and Ukraine, dating back to the Austro-Hungarian empire and its collapse after WW1, over who gets to run Carpatho-Ukraine, which Orban sought to exploit for nationalistic reasons. Furthermore, Zelinsky and Ukraine are in direct opposition to Orbán's anti-democratic, pro-Putin agenda.

And, of course, like Orbán's other bugbear whose image he put on hostile posters all over Hungary, George Soros, Zelinsky is Jewish, and therefore clearly a key mover in the international globalist liberal conspiracy against authoritarian Christian nationalists.
