It just boggles my mind. If I didn't have any scruples I could be parting fools from their money and maybe making quite a bit. So far as I can tell he isn't doing anything illegal.

Epik is the web host for such lovely sites as parler, gab.com and thedonald.com, and for a very short time, prolifewhistleblower.

Anonymous Claims to Have Stolen Huge Trove of Data From Epik, the Right-Wing’s Favorite Web Host The controversial domain registrar, which has been known to host Nazis and other unfortunate groups, apparently just had all of its data boosted.

Now, however, the apparent hacking of its platform means that all of Epik’s clients may soon have their backend information offered up to public scrutiny.

News of the apparent incident was first reported by Steven Monacelli, an independent journalist from Texas, who tweeted Monday that a “large dataset” belonging to the company appeared to have been stolen. Monacelli’s information comes from a 4Chan “press release” put out by the alleged hackers. In the release, the group claims to have stolen domain purchases and transfers, account credentials for “all Epik customers,” as well as a data dump from an Epik employee’s email inbox, among many other items.

“This dataset is all that’s needed to trace actual ownership and management of the fascist side of the Internet that has eluded researchers, activists, and, well, just about everybody,” the release claims.
Links to the data dump are widely available online but Gizmodo does not recommend the average user going around downloading unvetted hacked materials.

So. Epik. Their security seems to be better described as unsecurity.

In plain text they stored:

Failed login attempts. That’s right, plugged in the password and username for your bank when you meant Nazi dot com? Better hope your bank uses two factor because:

They also stored, in plain text:
Your name
Your address
Your card into with expiry and CCV
Your password challenge questions (!)
Want to know your favorite nazi’s mother’s maiden name and first pet? Epik’s got you covered.

Gizmodo article said:
d. The company recently hosted prolifewhistleblower.com—the website designed to help people snitch on Texas residents who want abortions—but later forcibly removed the tip-collecting platform after determining that it had violated Epik’s terms by nonconsensually collecting third-party information.
Somehow I think it was the fear of litigation rather than anything about their TOS. If it was the latter, they wouldn't have hosted it to begin with.

The roughly 5GB of data, which was provided by the hacker to the journalist and transparency collective Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDoSecrets), contains everything from emails and internal chats to details on the organization’s members and donors.

Composed of current and former military and police who believe they are defending the U.S. Constitution against a tyrannical government, the Oath Keepers have become a focal point of the ongoing federal investigation into the Capitol riot after at least 19 members were charged for their alleged involvement.

The hack includes, among other things, the militia’s Rocket.Chat server, an open source communication platform where members coalesce. An older archive details messages made in June 2020 while a second cache shows messages sent from March 2021 up until Sept. 19.

Apparently, Epik’s CEO’s security protocol involves praying to God that God curse any hard drive with the stolen data.

I've heard of hacks where gigs of raw data are released. This is much more impressive though. They have released isos where all you have to do is burn and boot them and actually run all the programs they used on your own machine! No deep programming knowledge needed. Damn.
