Granted, on the other hand Facebook name shenanigans have outed people to abusive family or potentially abusive sex-work customers, accidentally made them violate HIPPA regulations, and so on. And Google has backed the f*** off, apologized, and actually argued that pseudonyms are not a predictor of bad behavior after all. Facebook is still pulling these shenanigans.

And there is a workaround: Argent Stonecutter on Google Plus is connected to a gmail account that pretty much only gets alerts from fanfiction.net. Oh, and I'd probably have to make a new reddit account.

Not a work around for me unless I use completely separate devices to fool google into thinking that gmail account 2 is owned by someone other than the person behind gmail account 1. Far too much bother.

But yes... YES, FB is fracking evil incarnate. It'll also be here after G+ is nothing but a fading memory. Like so many other google 'experiments' that got the axe after people came to rely on them.
