Flood of notification emails ...

It looks like by default if you post to a thread, you're automatically subscribed to it, so you get an email anytime someone posts to it.

Post in a few threads, and you end up with a torrent of emails.

I'm assuming there's a way I can turn that off, so I don't mind too much (if I get really bothered I can unsubscribe thread-by-thread and/or hunt through the preferences myself) but it might be good to find a way to either have that "off" by default (so folks can subscribe to threads manually) or find a way to reduce the messages sent out (maybe a daily journal or something)?

There are settings in Preferences that control what you get email notifications for. I've got all mine unchecked.

I'm missing something. I've turned off email and that seems to have works, and I've turned off alerts for "likes"; so the only thing in the "alert box" should be actual messages and replies... but I'm still getting alerts for "reactions". There doesn't seem to be a setting for those.

Hmm... Apparently setting preferences to uncheck all email notifications is not retroactive. I'm still getting some emails for a couple of threads I'm following.

That is because they are already on your Watched list - click Watched up above, then you can disable email on all of them and unwatch them.
