A federal judge in Texas (of course it would be Texas) struck down the ACA:
Texas Judge Strikes Down Obama’s Affordable Care Act as Unconstitutional | NYTimes

Of course, various states, especially California, is livid about this ruling, and are planning to appeal it to SCOTUS. They are still taking sign-ups:

Obamacare enrollment continues despite judge striking down the law | CNN

I'm actually not surprised by this, after the GOP kicked the legs out from under the ACA a while back, but it is still very WTF-worthy. I'm also concerned about how the appeal will fare in the current Supreme Court.

Ironically, this ruling could set off a chain reaction that will ultimately lead to Medicare for all.

People are not going to just be quiet while their healthcare is stripped away.
I had that same very thought last night when I heard this news. People will tolerate not having a benefit, but they're far less forgiving of losing a benefit.

Me too: Okay then we will instead just take Medicare for all, thanks.

. Also: Republicans are going to OWN this now. They tried to run on a blatant lie, now they can try lying about ripping healthcare completely away.

Which means Republicans will find a partisan judge who'll strike that down as well.

Yeah, witness all the questions of what companies have dental coverage ..... although I doubt anyone did not take a job solely because it did not have it (unless they had 2 otherwise equal offers and the other one had it). No employer would even THINK of stopping dental coverage once they started offering it though.

My old job had great health insurance for the most part but the dental coverage was minimal. I'm on medicaid now and the dental coverage is much better thankfully but weird.

This is the first job I have had that had dental. Sure it is usually not much of a return if you have 6 month checkups but when you do not have it you skip those checkups then the first one after the dentist finds all sorts of things. I really am surprised the companies that have dental are not lobbying for it to be more of a standard coverage.
