We're back on the changeling gang, fantasy folk!

This is their 18th year (making it barely a month older than me in Second Life), with over 300 creators across 20 regions.

They raised over 129k USD in 2025 for the American Cancer Society through their Relay For Life movement. Woof. The faire goes from April 23 to May 10, so a goodly amount of time to explore and shop.

RE: PBR.

When it's explained that "everything at the faire has fallbacks," that is alternative (assumedly similar but flat) stand-in textures...

~snip~
Friend of mine visited Fantasy Faire this year with a friend of mine and I was busy both times but offered to tag along in a Discord call. Suffice to say they didn't find much that piqued their interest shopping wise compared to previous years and it felt like some of the people dropped the ball in terms of sim design. Doesn't help that some of the big names dropped out this year.

One that me and that friend can remember from a year or two ago was the Szystrum Synod. I can't recall who made it, but it was drop dead gorgeous and we have some mementos from the sim.

Funnily enough, I remember the New Babbage folks that used to pull security at FF over the years had a schism go on recently that might be behind some of the names dropping out. Frankly I've not cared for those people as they've a real Helen Lovejoy Brigade vibe about them and after they wronged one of my best friends, they ended up on my shit list.

Helen Lovejoy Brigade
Won't somebody please think of the Urchins! ;-)
(If you check my groups in SL, you'll see I'm in the Steampunks of New Babbage group) I'm not familiar with the "behind the scenes" goings on at Babbage, being a surface level visitor and acquaintance. I've never had land there, though I'm on a friendly basis with some of the residents there. Babbage was always more "buildery/scripty" focused and not really suitable for a fashionista with a liking for some steampunk/victorian fashion to live. Caledon was where the corsets and cleavage fashionistas were. ;-)

Also I haven't checked out Fantasy Faire yet, which I need to do.

Keep an eye out for the watermelon sim...
Yeah, it was tinies galore over there from what we saw. It was cute but nothing there for her (or me for that matter)
