WtF is that post even on about anyway? 6 digit numbering system??? Germans hate hammers?

Wat?
Apparently the fact that the Nazis restricted camp !D numbers to 6 digits in each camp means
  • They didn't recycle old numbers after the inmate's death (they did, at least according to accounts by camp survivors like Primo Levi I've read)
  • Numbers must have been unique across the camp system
  • All inmates were issued with numbers on arrival (they weren't -- tattooing was part of the admission procedure for inmates who passed the initial selection procedure on arrival. Those judged unfit for work (too young, too old, etc) were immediately sent to be murdered in the gas chambers, without being admitted to the labour camp
  • People murdered on arrival at the death camps (Belzec, Chełmno, Sobibor, and Treblinka) were tattooed on arrival, before being murdered (they weren't)
  • The figure of six million Jews murdered by the Nazis doesn't include the Jews murdered by Einsatzgruppen, the SS and by regular and auxiliary Wehrmacht units during the "Holocaust by bullets" in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine and Russia.
  • The figure of six million doesn't include the Jews who were murdered in or died from disease, malnutricion or overwork in the ghettos to which they were deported and confined before the Operation Reinhard extermination programme began.

Haven't heard? Germans can only count to 6 digits. It's why they lost WWII: When their military had reached a total of 999,999 bullets used, they stopped shooting.
Do these people base their entire knowledge of History on like, video games or something?

Also, good god the idiocy these people go through to what, prove the Nazi were not fucking evil? That millions of Jews were not murdered? Like what are they even trying to prove?

"Oh, it was at most 999,999 people murdered, so we should totally be ok with Nazis"?

That there is some huge fucking kabal of Jewish people who are all pretending that there was a genocide event against them because what, sympathy points? It feels like there would be way less complicated ways to acomplish all that.

Anyway, I am not really asking real questions, I am just venting because I am so tired of fucking idiots everywhere that are just becoming more everywhere.

At a moment when misinformation about the Israel-Hamas war is rapidly spreading on X (formerly Twitter)—mostly by verified X users—many researchers have given up hope that it will be possible to closely monitor this kind of misinformation on the platform, Reuters reported.

According to a "survey of 167 academic and civil society researchers conducted at Reuters' request by the Coalition for Independent Technology Research" (CITR) in September, more than 100 studies about X have been canceled, suspended, or switched to focus on another platform since Elon Musk began limiting researchers' access to X data last February. Researchers told Reuters that includes studies on hate speech and child safety, as well as research tracking the "spread of false information during real-time events, such as Hamas' attack on Israel and the Israeli airstrikes in Gaza."

Why does Elon hate capitalism?
Because, according to the Guardian article:

“Above everything, including profit, X works to protect the public’s right to free speech. But for speech to be truly free, we must also have the freedom to see or hear things that some people may consider objectionable,” he [Musk] added.
Examples of some of the "things that some people may consider objectionable," and which the advertisers did consider objectionable, are to be found at the offending Media Matters article

Some of the links in the article, giving more details of the pro-Nazi accounts that the advertisers objected to having their ads placed next to, or promoted on their home pages, are pretty hair-raising, too.

Not sure if this has been posted before. Musk certainly seems to be taking a page from his grandfather's life, right down to the X's, anti-semitism, white supremacy, etc.... He should just relabel it as Stormfront.

:

Elon Musk's grandfather, the late Joshua Haldeman, spent his time ranting about minority groups he didn't like, speculating about a global conspiracy led by shadowy figures (read: Jewish people), and joining the cause of technocracy. According to a deep dive from the Atlantic on the life of Haldeman, the Canadian chiropractor was a "radical conspiracy theorist" who spent the beginning of his career as part of a group known as "Technocracy Incorporated."
The organization also referred to people as numbers (apparently, Musk's grandfather was 10450-1) and sometimes added Xs to their names.
This kickstarted his involvement in other movements, including Canada's Social Credit Party, which espoused baseless conspiracy theories about Jewish people. The party came to be widely criticized for its blatant antisemitism. Haldeman, who became the SCP national chair, took it upon himself to defend the party's beliefs.

Haldeman, the Atlantic wrote, "maintained that the Social Credit Party was not antisemitic — while saying some rather antisemitic things, including the outrageous claim that Hitler had been installed as German führer by 'money … supplied by international financiers, many, but not all of them, Jewish.' He claimed that Jews created antisemitism to generate sympathy."
The party also used its platform to publish "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" a centuries-old fraudulent text detailing a meeting between Jewish leaders to establish world domination. Haldeman defended the publication in a letter because he felt he was witnessing the protocols "rapidly unfolding," the Atlantic reported.
Following his political stint, Haldeman began passionately supporting the cause of apartheid and moved to South Africa. According to the Atlantic, he once wrote, "South Africa will become the leader of white civilization in the world."

Haldeman also railed against "anti-White forces" that would seek to displace his position. He continued writing in pro-apartheid South African newspapers, as well as in his self-published book, about international conspiracies of world domination from a group of elites, per the magazine.

From the original Atlantic article:
Haldeman believed that apartheid South Africa was destined to lead “White Christian Civilization” in its fight against the “International Conspiracy” of Jewish bankers and the “hordes of Coloured people” they controlled.
Once he got to South Africa, he added Black Africans to his list of rhetorical targets. “The natives are very primitive and must not be taken seriously,” he wrote back to his hometown Canadian newspaper in 1951. “Some are quite clever in a routine job, but the best of them cannot assume responsibility and will abuse authority. The present government of South Africa knows how to handle the native question.”

Joe Biden is angry about Elon Musk. A speaker of the White House said about Musk's antisemitic slurs on Friday: "We condemn this abhorrent promotion of antisemitic and racist hate in the strongest terms, which runs against our core values as Americans. It is unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of antisemitism in American history at any time, let alone one month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust."

It's a rare sight that the US administration takes so openly a harsh stance against an American company, even more such a well known one.

What makes the X advertiser revolt different from other boycotts
Be smart: Musk's comments served as a final confirmation to increasingly skeptical marketers.
  • "It's not just advertising adjacent to this kind of horrendous content, it's also the creator program that Musk rolled out," said Ruben Schreurs, chief strategy officer at media investment analysis firm Ebiquity.
  • X's creator program shares ad revenue with certain users that have a certain reach. Advertisers have grown wary of ways their ad dollars may be funding creators who post questionable content.
Between the lines: Musk in the past has blamed research from groups like the Anti-Defamation League and the Center for Countering Digital Hate for forcing the hand of advertisers.
  • That's a harder argument to make in this case, as brands were quick to pull unilaterally in response to Musk's own comments.
Takeaway: Musk continues to blame the wrong people. Really, it's him. 'X' has been shedding advertisers since he purchased Twitter.
