It would also mean there's about $27 worth of gold in that overpriced silliness. Here's a book of gold leaf I found on Amazon for $56.97 -- more than enough to do your keyboard and have leftovers for whatever else you feel the need to make gaudy.
My guess is that it's a low volume mill job, blasted, and anodized. I'm assuming that's a translucent anodize (there's visible thinning along the edges and corners). A large flat like that is a nightmare to get even. I'd see a shop charging a nasty premium to get that surface to a desk friendly A. I'd risk to say Mfg costs are in the low $300 range and they're selling it at a 40% margin.
