Since I live alone, I have no need to close the door most of the time. ...so the bathroom has no mystery to my cats. They don't care when I'm in there, haha.

One of my cats -- a small sleek void -- is a (barely) ex-feral and avoids everyone who isn't me. Except in the bathroom. If Mrs. Beebo is in the upstairs bathroom, Twyla will join her, ask for pets and be completely at ease. But only there. Everywhere else in the house, she acts as if Mrs. Beebo is a dangerous stranger.

I’m one of those who always has their door open so the novelty has worn off mostly. She will come in for one pet then leave, but it’s the type of visit where she will , every time, walk through in between the feet so that her tail seems to try and reach a personal area so I’m like, ok ok that’s enough of that, here’s your pet, now off you go.

My two have been treating me like that since my husband died. I was a little shocked because they have never been huggy lap cats, but seeing me sad has brought something out in both of them and I am so grateful to have them right now.

The one bringing Kleenex

Mine gets like that, but not when I’m crying (although it wouldn’t surprise me if I were making weird noises). When I’m angry/frustrated, though, stomping around, talking loudly (ex. looking for my keys) she’ll come running and starts to meow nonstop, staring at me and getting tangled in my feet, as if to say WTF is wrong? Makes me laugh, and I forget what I’m so angry about.

This is the new little (or not so little) girl in my life. She's 8 years old and her name is Hazel. Her Mom had to go into a nursing home and I was afraid that she'd go to a shelter. My two little boys are not impressed but they will get used to her.
