The UK government never expected to leave the EU, they expected the vote to go down the other way.
Yes, Cameron made a big misjudgement, but then the convinced Brexiteers took over.
They had plenty of opportunities to call it a day after the referendum.
When became clear that the easiest agreement in the history of mankind was not going to happen for instance.
Or when the checkers plan failed.

I generally don't consider people with other ideas than I as stupids or fools.
Well, the frog might be and Rees-Mogg could come close, but the current government must have plans other than what they are showing openly at the moment.
Not all cards are on the table yet.
I have little doubt about that.

Update on my parcels journey so far:
Order processed March 5.
Crossing the border in the UK: March 10
Entering Belgium March 11
Arriving??? My guess tomorrow.

5 Days underway in the UK before shipped out of the country. How huge has this country become since Brexit?
Or are the Britons back to the stage coaches as well for nostalgic reasons?

The delay is probably caused by the new requirement, as a result of Brexit, that hauliers taking goods to the EU have the paperwork on their consignments given a pre-check by the UK authorities before they're given a permit to take the load into Kent, so as to avoid even worse delays at Dover, so they can't book a slot to take them across the channel until all that's completed.

Meanwhile

I know it are the new export/import rules.
It was just me being a bit sarcastic, as usual.
It is not for nothing I put my parcels journey in this thread.

If that is going to happen with the fresh fruit and veggies after April 1, goodbye of more than half of the real fresh food in the UK. 😢
About half of the vegetables and almost 80% of the fruits sold in the Uk are imported.

The future money is not in the glass houses but in the seeds.
The high tech glass house techniques you can sell only once.
The hybrid seeds a farmer needs, need to be bought over and over again.
Almost all the varieties used in glass houses, the ones that have almost uniform shapes and great guaranteed A quality yields per square meter, are from hybrid seeds (meaning that the seeds that the new plants produce are sterile, unusable).
It takes generations and a lot of knowledge to cross breed those.

And then there is the breading of insects, needed for pollination and the control of harmful insects.
We have companies to produce them on larger scale.

We are at least two steps ahead. 😇🤓

Downside is, we export for 1.1 billion Euro worth of fruit and vegetables every year to the UK.
and 0.8 billion Euro in flowers and plants.
So it would be nice if that would not totally collapse.
