I just heard that the author of my favorite book series, "The Sword of Truth", has died today. Aside from his writing, he led a pretty private life, so news of his death today came out of the blue for his fan base. There were some things about him I didn't agree with, but his writing was incredible. He was able to weave with the written word a truly immersive world with relatable and unforgettable characters. "The Sword of Truth" was a series of novels that I could read from beginning to end and then want to read all over again.
