I never heard of Evil Genius until your post. I've been playing it a lot though. The upcoming one looks like it could be great. This one does have it's problems. As an example if you let your armory max out on gold you better hope you have a previous save.

Unfortunately finding a good free game on macs is a bit challenging. Every time I see one I like it either does not have a mac port or manages to run poorly. I play guild wars 2 but would be nice to have a secondary game.

Grand Theft Auto V is free on the EPIC Games Store at the moment.

I think it lasts for the week, but at the moment the site has been obliterated by the traffic. I think I saw something about new games daily during their current Mega Sale, but the store died so I can't verify.

I was able to get in with the launcher, but yeah, the website is being pummeled. Just as an aside, thought it is not free, The Witcher 3 is on sale for $14.99 and they give you a $10 coupon immediately upon grabbing the GTA freebie, so that would be $4.99.

Ubisoft is giving away UPlay Discovery Tour Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt. They're not really games per se, but more like little mini-tours focusing upon a certain historical period, Cleopatra for Egypt and the Peloponesian War for Greece.

Ubisoft is giving away Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and Origins' Discovery Tour experiences on PC for the next week.

This coupon works like the one from the Holiday Sale.

When you use it, you get another one. Basically, app purchases over $14.99 are $10 off. The coupon shows up on checkout so you can verify it worked before paying. It looks like this one works on add ons. I think the last one did not, because I wanted to get the Control Add On.

Also like the old coupon, the last coupon lasts longer than the sale. So even if you don't use it, it says this one expires in November, so you can keep it and use it later during a future sale or just, in general.

Thanks for that info. I didn't realize it gave you another coupon when using the first one. I used it on Assassin's Creed Origins. Now I have to decide if I want The Ghostbusters Video Game or Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

I need to play through all of the Assassin's Creed games before I will even get to the latter ones. I started the first one some time ago and stopped maybe 1/3 of the way.

I do like that both of these have rpg elements in them, or so they say anyhow.

The game was released in 2004, 16 years ago. For a game that old it still is quite a treat. It was heavily inspired by Dungeon Keeper 2, but is a very much different setting. Evil Genius 2 will be released later this year.

GTA Online swamped by cheaters and hackers after free offer

Unlike other online games, most players would be happy if aimbots were the only irritation they had to suffer, but many modders enjoy ruining missions by catching people in cages or just crashing the server.

This is pretty much why I stopped playing GTA Online after like 2 months of playing.

Funny enough, the best group I found to hang out with was the folks from the VG board on 4chan. The stereotype is they would be a bunch of griefers, but mostly we hung out on someone' yacht or riding bicycles in the Bike Park with the ramps.

I think part of why it was good was we could fill a lobby with enough people that the actual griefers couldn't get in.
