Isn't that some sort of violation of trademark or copyright? I mean, maybe if he just, refuses to let them use those accounts then fine whatever, maybe there is a thing there, but if his intention is to just, use those accounts himself, pretending to be Onion Owned Infowars, that would be illegal.

Not that it matters at the moment with our broken ass corrupt and useless legal system.

There's a helpful summary of the issues here

While individual account owners own the IP to whatever they've posted on their accounts, X's case is that account holders can't transfer their accounts without X's permission, a bit like the way we can't transfer SL accounts without LL's permission.

So, assuming Musk's case succeeds, it would seem that while the new owners of Infowars will be able to what they want with the existing contents of Infowars' X accounts (delete them, publish them elsewhere, print them on novelty toilet paper), they won't be able to take over the account itself and start posting their own content on it without X's agreement. I would think that they'll be able to stop Musk giving the account back to Alex Jones, since they'll own the title "Infowars," but I'm not sure. Unless perhaps Jones were to label his recovered Infowars account as a parody account, to avoid confusion with the new owners of the title (though not the X account) "Infowars"?

Once again, meddlesome judges don't want us to have any happiness.

Bankruptcy judge rejects The Onion's bid for Infowars
The owners of The Onion say they are "deeply disappointed" in a judge's decision to reject their bid to buy Alex Jones' Infowars company. Late Tuesday, a federal bankruptcy judge said last month's auction of Jones' business, and The Onion's bid, which had been selected as the winner, were flawed.

After two days of testimony in Houston, Judge Christopher Lopez took issue with what he called the lack of transparency in the process, the uneven playing field and the failure to maximize value for the people to whom Jones owes money.

The decision is a significant — and rare — win for Jones, who has been embroiled in a long legal battle with relatives of the 26 children and educators killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., who sued Jones for defamation in 2018.

We have taken another proud, collective stride toward dystopia.

A bankruptcy court has denied the sale of InfoWars following a month of drawn-out legal proceedings. The experience was long and punishing for all involved, and the final outcome is inconclusive: The InfoWars assets remain in limbo. Everything is now in doubt and everyone is worse off than before.

In short, it is the kind of world we at Global Tetrahedron have always envisioned. One in which wealth begets wealth, power begets power, and the process itself inflicts daily suffering on innocent parties for no reason.

It looks like Jones has lost all his marbles. During a chess match. At a soccer tournament.

Is it a Hitler moustache or a Charlie Chaplin one, though?

There are basically no more legal options for Alex Jones. He's outta time!

The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an appeal from conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and left in place the $1.4 billion judgment against him over his description of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting as a hoax staged by crisis actors.

The Infowars host had argued that a judge was wrong to find him liable for defamation and infliction of emotional distress without holding a trial on the merits of allegations lodged by relatives of victims of the shooting, which killed 20 first graders and six educators in Newtown, Connecticut.

The justices did not comment on their order, which they issued without even asking the families of the Sandy Hook victims to respond to Jones’ appeal.
