New AI fake text generator may be too dangerous to release, say creators
This AI is capable of writing very convincing pieces in pretty much any style. It's creators however have decided against making their research generally available until they have consider all the implications of releasing it.
The researchers talk about it's ability to produce fake news articles or spam that reads as if written by an actual person. Now I can't quite see that as dangerous exactly but it is good to see some researchers deciding to slow down and think through the consequences of making the tech available.
By all accounts it can write a newspaper article on a topic taking any particular point of view requested, it can mimic writing styles of known authors it can even produce poetry.
