I'm including a post I made on the SL forums, with some added details here:
May 16th was my 21st rezday, which seems absolutely crazy to me. I can’t believe that not only am I still in SL, I am having more fun with it than I ever have. Second Life continues to excite and frustrate me in equal measure, which is quite a feat. I was in the hospital and missed my 20th, so this rezday feels particularly special. I am happy that SL continues to thrive (and me within it), and that there are still moments that are as magical to me as the first time I realized “holy shit, I can build and be anything I want”.
I have recently started working on a line of clothing and discovered why rigging makes creators want to murder people. It is exciting to continue to try new challenges. While I am less familiar with this community here than those on my own site (and SLUniverse before it), I got my start in the original SL forums in 2003 and will always have a fondness for them. I do know many of you here and I am even luckier to call some of you dear friends. Not SL friends or RL friends, just my friends.
The events of the past 2 years of my life have shown me that things can change in an instant and nothing is certain. I am very lucky to still be here, in my first and second lives. Not to get too sentimental, but thank you to Linden Lab and to the Second Life community for 21 years of something remarkable. It has been a gift

Now the added part:
My SL experience is forever intertwined with SLU and VVO. I started SLU only a few months after SL launched in order to provide an alternative to the harsh moderation in the main forums that put your SL account at risk if you said something in the forums. Outside the reach of the long arm of the TOS and over zealous mods, it became possible to discuss SL honestly, good and bad. While the tone has changed over the years and we have not had a good brawl in a long time (though I did get my beloved title of "Cosmos Betraying Fiend" from some drive by crazy during Pedo Bloggate 2024), this place still matches my original vision for it all those years ago, and I am proud of that.
This site came very close to disappearing (in fact it did go offline for a little while), and me along with it in 2023. I am glad I am still here with all of you and can still provide this space for you. To those of you I have known the whole time, and to those I have grown to know and love over the years, and those who I don't know but have helped to make my SL experience and these sites so special, thank you for the bottom of my heart. I'm not crying, you are.
