Do You Still Care About Second Life?

I do. SL has given me opportunity to explore socializing more than any other experience. Basically near everyone I like is someone I've met in SL. I still do what I can to sustain a connection with them while keeping to my place. And SL is my key to that connection.

Vigilante Group Exposing Alleged Child Predator Leads To Suicide

Why should it matter that a crime is involved? He killed himself. He knew there was a truth about himself which would make living impossible. When that truth was revealed, he took his own course of action and made his own decision.

Vigilante Group Exposing Alleged Child Predator Leads To Suicide

So, nothing of value was lost. If someone's gonna off himself, what can some trendy Facebook twit do? Though, remembering my gramma had her first daughter at 14. Daughter having her first son at 16. So, and so forth, gramma now has 5 generations under her. And, I'm trying to think of anyone...

Does any other virtual world have the avatar diversity of Second Life?

No. (^_^) VRChat could, but, it still needs 10 more years to catch up. (^_^)

Not quite sure how or why I found this. (O.o)

What is your earliest memory of Second Life?

Can't remember how I first heard of it, but, my first clear memory was logging in the client. My sad excuse for a computer rendered whatever was coming up at 0.4FPS. After seeing segments of what might be a dragon after a whole minute, I was all 'screw this!' and uninstalled it. (-_-)

Microsoft Is Switching Edge To A Chromium Based Browser

Take note that each example is stifled by an attempt to compete instead of collaborate... Open source and walled gardens are incompatible. Competition brings up new ideas, sure, but gimps them once they're just barely good enough to squeeze out a competitor.

Microsoft Is Switching Edge To A Chromium Based Browser

In open source, a monopoly is not a bad thing. In a competitive market, a monopoly stifles development since individual needs for gain are too tightly connected to out-do what few other providers exist. Why bother making something better when all the others are a mere fraction of the leader...

Inhalable Alcohol Shots From A Balloon

I think I remember ultrasonic beer vapes being a thing a couple years ago. The primary risk found at the time was that it was easier to OD on the alcohol. Given, the path to the blood stream was more direct and the body's built-in digestive rejection methods (vomiting and diuretic effects)...

Was there ever a good explanation as to why one has to work with two time zones in SL?

Here's hope they don't find some nice cheap office space in Idaho. (^_^)

Was there ever a good explanation as to why one has to work with two time zones in SL?

Most LSL time functions return UTC except llGetWallClock() which returns SLT(PST/PDT). =^-^= Realistically, there are no good reasons for SL to use Pacific time based SLT. Probably a lot of bad excuses, but, no good reasons. (^_^)y

    The Sex Recession

I'm guessing far-far away from the San Francisco, LA regions. Far enough that it could be mistaken for Nevada.

    The Sex Recession

That's what I'm saying. Maybe there's a correlation between the popularization of nerdy things and the reduction of sex. I just observe patterns. To somewhat over-simplify what I saw during high school: -The most beautiful people could be the most social and active. They wouldn't have to...

    The Sex Recession

Vague. More like, what about ugly people? I guess I can imagine beautiful people because their attractiveness can excite others. Maybe this decline is due to beautiful people adopting ugly people activities. Maybe there's a correlation with the 'fake gamer faux nerd' scene? The more time...
