It takes a couple hours of research to figure out a decent youtube-quality broadcast setup, and a few thousand dollars to acquire it. This is not beyond the means of someone doing this for a living, suddenly having to broadcast from home. Hell, they could do this with borrowed equipment. I bet their normal crew has this stuff at home as backup last-gen equipment to their current hobby setup.

Yes, they were all making plans to do stuff from home so it does not make sense they were not trucked off with an emergency setup (or it was not delivered to them). It is not everyone too. Colbert seems to have a wireless mic. Even one of the local weatherppl set up a green screen at home.

I read an article that they were open for essential activities. Funny, the only essential activity I can think of on a beach is lifeguards and emts if someone is doing the inessential activity of GOING TO THE BEACH IN A PANDEMIC.

I have stayed in a number of hotel rooms where the "No Smoking" signs in the rooms were embedded in a glass disc. If you turned it over, it was an ashtray.

I'm skeptical of those demonstrations. Looks to me like astroturfing and a bunch of small business owners who really just want the government to let them make their employees work during a pandemic. The only people I know who hold their views are upper middle class libertarian nutballs.
