The UK's minister of defense, Ben Wallace, supposedly is annoyed with Ukraine's attitude and lack of appreciation.

During the NATO summit in Vilnius he said that the UK is not Amazon "I told them that last year, when I drove 11 hours to be given a list, that I’m not like Amazon.", and "whether we like it or not, people want to see a bit of gratitude." The US securitor advisor, Jack Sullivan, said also that "the American people deserve a gratitude" as well, after a Ukrainian activist asked if Biden is withholding the NATO membership of Ukraine because America might be worried that Ukraine might loose the war.

Later Wallace launched a myriad of tweets to explain his statements in Ukrainian.

The underground Crimean Tatar group taking up arms against Russia

Russian Empire is feeling Empire problems like all empires eventually do.

A Crimean Tatar-led underground movement is already active behind Russian lines and hundreds of young Tatar men are ready to take up arms to liberate the occupied peninsula, a veteran community leader has said.

Mustafa Dzemilev, widely seen as the godfather of the Crimean Tatar rights movement, pointed to operations by the Atesh guerrilla group, comprising Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians and Russians, in Crimea and other occupied Ukrainian regions.

Atesh, which means “fire” in Crimean Tatar, was created in September last year, primarily to carry out acts of sabotage from within the ranks of the Russian army. It claims more than 4,000 Russian soldiers have already enrolled in an online course on how to “survive the war” by wrecking their own equipment.

This was a few days ago, but someone was posting videos of (allegedly) Ukrainian soldiers complaining about being drafted as an example of how barbaric Zelenskyy is. ...as if they are to blame for why they need a draft. I tried to point that out but of course Russian apologists are like talking to a brick wall.

The Curious Case Of Kyiv’s North Korean Rockets

Christopher Miller (@ChristopherJM) reported in Financial Times on Saturday that a batch of rockets from one of Moscow’s few remaining allies made it into the Ukrainian stockpile. Exactly how Kyiv got them remains in question, the rockets were either captured from Russian positions or allegedly seized at sea by a friendly country and donated to Ukraine.

Citing a Ukrainian artillery commander, Miller reports the rockets have earned a troublesome reputation for duds and misfires, so much so that a soldier warned not to stand too close to the BM-21 launcher when it fired the rounds. Markings reportedly indicate they were manufactured in the 1980s or 1990s. Miller spoke to Ukrainian soldiers using the rockets on Bakhmut’s flanks, but photos from late June show another batch of rockets in use with a unit fighting near Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In case somebody missed it, here's a video Kadyrov's brave Chechen soldiers released a day or two ago. I suppose it shows why geography is so important to military compaigns.

Current and former imperial powers expecting their due blow jobs from a potential client state.
Well, actually you can also now add Poland to the group of countries which want at least some gratitude from Ukraine. The issue is that Poland wants to limit the flow of Ukraine's wheat crops into the EU in order to protect their own farmers. Of course Ukraine is against this.

Przydacz also said Ukraine had received a lot of support from Poland and it should “start appreciating the role Poland has played for Ukraine in recent months and years.”

“Ukraine should start appreciating what Poland is doing for it,” he said.

Furthermore there is a front report in the Kyiv Post, mentioning every win of around 100m of lands causes 4-5 dead Ukranian soldiers.

Translation: "Ukraine should let us economically screw them over because Russia invaded them and we gave a bit of support."

The US has exactly as many serving troops fighting in Ukraine as its NATO European allies: zero.
(Less in direct reference to the quote but what it was replying to)

Its funny how these contrarian jackasses are apparently wondering "why aren't we doing more" while simultaneously wondering why we are spending so much.

I also have seen the opposite mentionee, about how the US is wasting soldier's loves in Ukraine. Like yo, we don't have any soldiers there, neither does NATO. There are probably meecenaries, working or volonteering there, on their own time, but nothing official. An Official effort would be an act of war against Russia, and no one wants that escalation.

There have been Purple Hearts awarded to service people who were "wounded" but were never in a battle or skirmish.

The Purple Heart is awarded in the name of the President of the United States to any member of the Armed Forces of the United States who, while serving under competent authority in any capacity with one of the U.S. Armed Services after 5 April 1917, has been wounded or killed. Specific examples of services which warrant the Purple Heart include:

  1. any action against an enemy of the United States;
  2. any action with an opposing armed force of a foreign country in which the Armed Forces of the United States are or have been engaged;
  3. while serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party;
  4. as a result of an act of any such enemy or opposing armed forces; or
  5. as a result of an act of any hostile foreign force.
Many don't think they deserve one, others never have the paperwork filed when they actually do deserve a Purple Heart.
