I like how Elon threw out a Twitter Poll about what Apple, a company he does not own, should do.

Like, just because your own stupid bull shit can be run by bot polls doesn't mean Apple fucking cares.

I was thinking of bouncing from Twitter when I learned Musk was going to buy it. Then it took him 6 months to bounce around weirdly whinning and whimpering. Then finally bought it.

Like the Twitter post above, I did not actually expect Musk's buying Twitter would lead to this *waves at what's going on* though.

When he announced it, I left.

When it seemed like it was going to fall through and he would not make it, I came back.

When it became official, I left again. Aside from account housekeeping, and whats posted here, I don't look at it at all any more.

It helps that I have been kind of soured on Twitter for a few years now.

As someone who had to study the classics many years ago at school, I find it entertaining to watch hubris followed by nemesis playing out in the modern world, and demonstrating the truth of the old maxim that those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first deprive of reason.

Still, we've all seen how easy it is to make a small fortune by opening a club in SL -- just start with a large fortune. And Musk is behaving just like an SL club owner completely out of his depth.

Imagine your job having to include counting the number of times Elon Musk posts on Twitter.
Eh, I could write a script that would post a running average in about ten minutes probably.

Hints at mania, doesn't it?

In fact, as I think about it, the grandiose schemes, the insane spending, the wacky hours, the chaotic decision-making --- is this guy bipolar?

I can't be the first person who has wondered about that.

Musk reportedly called the CEOs of several companies which stopped advertising on Twitter to complain about it. This mostly backfired, and now even more companies stopped their ads on Twitter.

Musk's new fanboys: hardcore managers. Managers who think the working world has gone soft in recent years, with all the talk of flexibility and work-life balance, say they envy Mr. Musk’s unfiltered style and share his craving for maximum effort—even if they wouldn’t act quite as forcefully as the world’s richest person.

“I think every successful CEO, including myself, is tired of all the whining,” says Michael Friedman, chief executive of the New York investment firm First Level Capital.

To these frustrated executives, Mr. Musk is what the comedian Keegan-Michael Key was to former President Barack Obama : the anger translator. He delivers the unvarnished version of what the person in charge is truly thinking and feeling but can’t say out loud.

It'll be interesting to see how that works out for his business, though. A bit like the benefits of Brexit, I suspect.
