Both Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh were extremely prominent supporters of Hitler. In the young part of my life, I was an admirer of the accomplishments of both men, but this knowledge changed all that.

Books 2 and 3 remind me so much of what is happening now and the fact that the Bund are in the books really creeped me out.

Lindbergh's bigotry was tired in with his isolationism.

Maybe he did regret his speech blaming Jews (as well as the British and the Roosevelt administration (ZOMG Socialism!!11!!)) and maybe he was horrified when he saw concentration camp survivors. I have to wonder, though, whether his famous speech and the America First Committee he was spokesman for influenced the fate of the MS St Louis.
A young Gerald Ford was on that committee. I hadn't known that before I looked it up.
So was Walt Disney, but I'd heard about him.

Putting 300 million people in prison would have to include at least 47 million Trump voters and at least
45.9 million minors.

The US prison system has a ratio of 3.3 prisoners per staff member.
If we put 300 million more people in prison, that would bring the prison population to 302.3 million.
We would need 91.6 million staff.
There would only be 27.2 million Americans not in prison. Some may be minors.
The US would need to import between 64.4 and 91.6 million people to serve as prison staff.

Fortunately the CIA has been training people for this.

WOW... I had of course heard Ford was a rabid antisemite but didn't know it was that pervasive. I don't think we should judge historical figures by modern standards, but it sounds like he was a giant bastard even in his own time. I can forgive historical figures for ignorance, but not for being so hateful.
