WTF Boulder shooting: Gunman kills at least 6, including police officer, at King Soopers

I've forgotten what thread includes reports of mass shootings, therefore I put this here.

There seemed to be something of a pause, mostly, while people were hiding from COVID. Now things are opening up again and . . . mass shootings are on the increase again.

Atlanta last week, Boulder today.

A gunman opened fire inside a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder on Monday afternoon, killing at least six people, including a police officer, and sending shoppers fleeing for their lives.

This happened 2 1/2 miles from where my niece lives as she attends university nearby. She does shop there and was even needing to hit up the grocery store today, but not this particular one; another one in the same chain.

Needless to say, they are quite shaken up. They had been worried about something like that happening on campus. They never dreamed it would be at a grocery store and so close. As long as the AR-15 is the choice of mass murders everywhere, and remains easily available I don't see this trend stopping, sadly.

So very sad for the victims who were just going about their lives. The cop alone has seven children with the youngest being seven.

Wednesday, March 24 2021, Atlanta: third mass shooting in two weeks, this one following a similar pattern as the one in Colorado (man in a grocery store) . . . did not happen as the shooter was spotted going into a bathroom with a gun. When he emerged from the bathroom, he was detained. He was found to have five guns and body armor.

A witness saw the man entering "the location openly carrying a rifle and entered the bathroom" and alerted the store management and then notified police, according to a preliminary investigation.
