Cosmo Sheldrake. I like the fact he worked shrubbery into a song lyric about Tardigrades. And that he wrote a song about Tardigrades.

I'm also listening to Matthew Coleridge's Requiem. On a whim I signed up to "Requiem in a day" locally in which an impromptu choir rehearse all day and then perform the piece in the evening. It's beautiful. It's been some time since I did any formal singing, but I'm looking forward to it - and trying to get ahead of the game by learning my part in advance. I was a soprano in school, when I did a lot of singing, but have become an alto now... and wonder if I will be able to hold the line and resist being drawn into the sopranos!

An Austrian song out of 1991 about the fact that despite mankind has reached unknown heights due to science it still behaves like in prehistoric times: violent, barbaric, just like the proverbial Neanderthal humans.

Voll Bedauern sieht der Homo Sapiens
das Schicksal der Kurden Arabiens.
Im TV ganz genau doch keiner mischt sich ein
ich fürcht' da dürft kein Erdöl sein.

Full of pity the homo sapiens
watches the fate of the kurd on the Arabian peninsula.
Really close on tv but nobody intervenes
because I do fear there's no oil.

...and this was 1991.

So, I found an old review of an early Metallica album... maybe their first? ... And the review described their guitar tone as 'rusty chainsaws'. (o_O)
Well, that sparked my memory and some Google-fu. =^-^=

Can't stop listening to the hypnotic Sea chant of Diane Arkenstone, Voice of the Sea:

A cinematic Mermaid version of the same musical interlude.
