The eventual emotional abuse described by women in relationships that are suddenly "redpilled" is what happened to a previous relationship of mine.
He went from a writer and activist for his local Communist Party Of <X US State> to a friend of Sarrgon of Akkad and vile Gamergater. The Redpilling process reminds me a bit of cult brainwashing, if we're going to be honest. The Redpilling folks like finding young men that are angry and usually white, but don't quite have these ideal lives, and exploiting their insecurities and weaknesses. They do a lot of right wing themed cult "love bombing" and promoting extreme conformity.

It's very scary how someones mundane flaws and prejudices can be exploited and pounded into a fascistic altright state. Of course, its not all exploitation. I suspect many of these young men were always secretly terrible and just got tired of pretending not to be.
