Robin (Sojourner) Wood, well-known and loved creator, visionary, and SL tutor, passed away. We all became richer by knowing her - even a little; we all became richer through her efforts; and SL is poorer now without her.

I was a fan of hers from her fantasy art days doing Dragon magazine covers so I was tickled pink when I found out she was in SL. She will be missed.

I was a little surprised to see her being remembered in the SCA group on Facebook today. I mean, not that surprised that she was SCA, but, you know... she is missed by people from multiple alternate realities.

I don't know what to say. Robin Woods paintings inspired me. I have her tarot deck, for along time it was one of my most prized possessions. I went to livingtree a number of times hoping to meet her but I always chickened, never knowing what to say. Words can't describe how I feel right now. She was a huge impact on both my RL and my SL.

I just found out, this is a terrible loss but she made a huge impact and will be remembered for years to come. That doesn't make the loss any easier for her family and to her friends, and they have my deepest condolences.

I knew she'd been having health problems for some time now, but that never makes news like this any easier. I still remember how exciting it was to discover she'd brought her talents to Second Life. I'm glad I got the chance to be a friend. Kindred spirits are rare and precious.

Much of my attempts to make content in SL was with her templates and tutorials etc. I'll always remember the one time I was within chat distance at a Builders Brewery show-n-tell and was blocked by my own "I'm not worthy" sentiment.

Any word on a memorial service? I know SL has a cemetary on public, LL operated land. I participated in a funeral there once. I think we used to be allowed one prim to build a tombstone or memorial to the deceased there, but I think that's not the case any more.
