For those who haven't heard, Netflix has signed merchandising deals with both Mattel AND Hasbro for KPDH.

"Mattel will market and develop a full range of KPop Demon Hunters–themed products across multiple categories, including dolls, action figures, accessories, collectibles, playsets, collaborations with co-brands, and more, beginning in 2026 with distribution worldwide."

And yes, I want the dolls that Mattel has already announced are coming next year.

KPop Demon Hunters' first product coming from Hasbro is Monopoly Deal: KPop Demon Hunters. Though all the press mentioned "role-play" products so I'm hoping Hasbro's Wizards of the Coast subsidiary will do a tabletop RPG. I'm also hoping for video games.

'KPop Demon Hunters 2' Is a Go, But It's Going to Be a While

The news we all knew was coming is finally here. Sony and Netflix have struck a deal to make the animated sequel to KPop Demon Hunters. That’s the good news. The bad news is, it probably won’t be here until 2029.

I know these things take time, what with the animation and getting the right story and all. But, wow.

The first KPDH movie was in production for over 7 years, so 3 to 4 years for the sequel is a pretty fast pace. The producers say they had enough backstory material for several hours' worth of storylines, so that's a jump start. The casting for major vocal and singing roles is done, too.

A fantastic look at the film from the directors. Very cool to learn a lot of the elements behind the making of the animation, including how the animators themselves are pretty good actors. Also presents a weird throughline with Children of Men - you'll see.



I'd like to see the storyboarded version of the film get released in some way.

According to data reported by Deadline (alongside a separate report about Neflix’s dipping stock prices), the streamer’s summary from January through June of 2026 placed KPop Demon Hunters as “the fourth most viewed film with 130.4M views.” That’s down from the numbers reported from July through December of 2025, when the film claimed the top spot with 481.6 million views.

Back then, of course, the film was at the height of its popularity and on the way to becoming Netflix’s most watched film of all time; its total currently sits at a staggering 648.7 million views

Still in the top ten more than a year after it first appeared on Netflix. Good news.

They have "blind box" containers of KPDH figures at my local Wal-mart. There's two kinds, ones that look like Ramyeon containers and ones that look like a "Soda Pop" container. I picked up one of each and got a Rumi in her "How it's done outfit" and a Derpy with Sussy and the flowerpot.
