I sometimes think another solution would be for all 5 million Palestinians to emigrate to the US, assimilate into NYC, start a "Reform Muslim" movement, americanize their names to things like "Miller" or "Mason" or Thomas. Build summer resorts in the Catskills, become influential in various ways in US culture, finance, law and government. Hey, have a Palestinian play a 1950's "hoodlum" in Milwaukee or a Mexican Bandit in a Western.......and basically take advantage of the US system the way Likud's allies in the US do.

Looking at this from a future where America is once again building concentration camps and ICE thugs are rounding up green card holders.

Next week the Israeli government will host an International Conference on Combating Antisemitism in Jerusalem, with speakers and delegates from across the world gathering “to raise awareness about the key drivers of modern antisemitism and to address the critical challenges posed by the evolving realities since October 7, both for the State of Israel and for Jewish communities worldwide.” This ought to be welcome: such a conference is long overdue, and there is much to discuss. But instead, the decision of the Israeli government to invite politicians from some of Europe’s far right and populist right wing parties has led several other participants to withdraw. It has caused unnecessary division at exactly the time when efforts to combat antisemitism ought to be unified, and points to the potential for further disagreements ahead.

The problems have been widely reported. The far right politicians billed to attend the conference include leading figures from National Rally in France, Vox in Spain, Sweden Democrats, and Hungary’s Fidesz. Jean-Marie Le Pen’s granddaughter will be there. These are parties with dubious pasts rooted in far right, and at times openly Nazi, politics, and while some of them have more recently condemned antisemitism and supported Israel, their ranks still include old-school antisemites and Holocaust deniers. In contrast, those who have pulled out include some of the most forthright and committed people in the fight against anti-Jewish hatred and the delegitimisation and demonisation of Israel. Britain’s Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, Bernard-Henri Levy, ADL head Jonathan Greenblatt, the UK government’s Independent Advisor on Antisemitism Lord Mann, his German counterpart Felix Klein, and antisemitism expert Professor David Hirsh: these are not cowards who are scared to stand up to the enemies of Israel and the Jewish people.

A video, discovered on the cellphone of a paramedic who was found along with 14 other aid workers in a mass grave in Gaza in late March, shows that the ambulances and fire truck that they were traveling in were clearly marked and had their emergency signal lights on when Israeli troops hit them with a barrage of gunfire.

Human shields

The procedure is simple. Innocent Palestinians are forced to enter houses in Gaza and "clear" them, to make sure there are no terrorists or explosives.

It's important to note that we can enter houses without using human shields. We did it for months, according to a proper entry procedure which included sending in a robot, a drone, or a dog. This procedure proved itself, but it took time, and the command wanted achievements here and now.

In other words, we forced Palestinians to act as human shields not because it was safer for IDF troops, but because it was faster. That's why we risked the lives of Palestinians who were suspected of nothing other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It's important to remember that the accusations come from an activist group who have provided the Metropolitan Police with a dossier they say supports the allegations.

It's now up to the Met to carry out their own investigation, and then for the Crown Prosecution Service to decide, on the basis of the Met's findings, whether criminal charges are appropriate.

The IDF approved guided tours inside Syrias military zone, which were not open for the public before. The tours will include access to the Roked Stream, the El-Hama Bridge on the Yarmouk River, a tunnel from the historic Hejaz Railway and a lookout near the Mount Dov site associated with the biblical “Covenant Between the Pieces.”

The area is occupied by Israel and has been off-limits to the public until now.
